Major Developments

Over the next 20 years Southampton's city centre will undergo a significant and ambitious transformation. The council has worked with leading planning consultants, David Lock Associates, to scope out ambitious plans for the city centre. The City Centre Master Plan, which once completed, will bring over 24,000 new jobs, 5,000 new homes and £3 billion of investment into the city by 2030.

The Master Plan is underpinned by major world-class developments coming to the city and gives businesses the confidence that Southampton's ambition is matched by a clear vision and an ability to deliver. This section sets out opportunities and progress on the 7 VIP projects which are at the heart of the Master Plan along with major development schemes which are transforming Southampton.
