Test Valley Borough Council to breathe new life into Sandy Lane, Romsey Site
16 March 2011
The former Bourne Training property in Sandy Lane, Romsey that has been lying vacant for over a year has been bought by Test Valley Borough Council for a new depot. The property was on the market with Keygrove Chartered Surveyors, the Southampton based commercial property agents at a quoting price of £750,000.
Bourne Training had operated from the hidden away 3.5 acre site and offices in Sandy Lane for over 10 years but fell into receivership in 2009 and before this it was owned by Bryant Seeds. Since falling empty it had suffered from break-ins and vandalism.
Andrew Archibald, Director of Keygrove says “We had loads of interest, mainly from developers looking at both residential and commercial development opportunities.”
Keygrove sold the property on behalf of a private pension fund.
