Delph Property Group has acquired the residential element of a major £110 million mixed-use scheme in Southampton.
The scheme, which is based on the East Park Terrace site and aims to regenerate a key gateway site in Southampton, has just been granted planning consent. Delph has acquired the 169 units of accommodation and will manage the private rental residential element to the scheme.
Imperial Property is the developer behind the 14 storey development, which also incorporates a four star, 22 storey, 212 bedroom hotel, and 82,500 sq ft office space. Work is expected to begin on site in the Summer this year, with completion expected at the end of 2009. The architect behind the scheme is Portsmouth-based PLC Architects.
The development also incorporates landscaped public space, and will form part of a wider regeneration strategy for this part of the city. The residential accommodation will boast panoramic views over East Park, stretching across the city, with the units on the higher levels offering views across Southampton Water.
David Green, Director of Operations at Delph Property Group, said: “This is an exciting, ambitious scheme which will breathe new life into the city, creating much needed regeneration to this important gateway site. The location and design of the residential units are fantastic, and we’re delighted with this new addition to our growing portfolio of residential accommodation across the UK.”
