Flooding advice and warning service

The Environment Agency is urging the public in England, Wales and Scotland to be aware of whether they are in an area at risk of flooding and to register for direct flood warnings via the Agency’s Floodline service.

Businesses and home owners are being invited to register for Floodline Warnings Direct [http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/subjects/flood/826674/?version=1〈=_ea] free service that provides flood warnings direct by telephone, mobile, fax or pager.

The public can also find out if their area is at risk of flooding by entering a post code or a place name online on the Agency’s floodline web pages. Other information offered includes current flood warnings in force and advice on how to protect homes and businesses from the consequences of floods. Floodline can be contacted on Tel: 0845 988 1188.
