Budget changes affecting businesses

Below are the basic Budget changes affecting business.

- Corporation tax and capital gains tax remain the same
- Increase on petrol duty deferred until 1 September 2006
- The climate change levy to be indexed to rises in inflation.
- Vehicle excise duty zero rate for the least polluting cars and £210 for the most
- £20m for the first Enterprise Capital Fund for the environment
- £100m to double Enterprise Capital Funds to help small firms
- Firms with up to 500 employees eligible for research and development tax credit scheme
