Partners sought for new business incubator
8 November 2006:
The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) http://www.seeda.org.uk is seeking potential partners for an independent, not-for-profit company it is proposing to establish to develop future Managed Business Centres (MBCs) across the South East of England.
As part of its programme supporting enterprise and business, SEEDA has already funded and developed a number of new MBCs to date. These include Adur Business Centre (mentioned in the earlier edition of Hatrics to go), which was opened by SEEDA Chairman Jim Brathwaite in September 2006 and Newhaven Business Centre, which started on site at the beginning of October. The MBCs provide flexible business units with on-site support suitable for small and starter businesses. Future MBCs would be constructed in areas of market failure or business need and developed, owned and managed by the company, using both public and private sector funding. The partners would contribute management skills and expertise to the company and benefit from the networking and other opportunities that the partnership will bring.
The closing date for expressions of interest is 11 December.
