Applications invited for 2007 small business awards

The Federation of Small Businesses http://www.fsb.org.uk is inviting applications from small to medium-sized enterprises that think they could win the British Small Business Champions 2007 awards.

Firms from across the country that are eligible could follow in the footsteps of garden specialist Wiggly Wigglers, http://www.wigglywigglers.co.uk/ which was last year’s winner. Companies that win gain the prestige and publicity that accompanies the awards, and attend a celebratory dinner in their own region and London.

The FSB launched the annual awards in 2003. For the first time this year, the awards will include additional awards in the areas of manufacturing, retail, services, innovation, ethical business and young entrepreneurship. Criteria for entry into the competition include that the entrant company must have fewer than 50 employees and have been trading for a minimum of five years (unless you fall into the young entrepreneurship category).

Companies will first be entered into one of six regional competitions - Central, North, South, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. The regional winners will be announced at dinners in each of the regions, and all six regional winners will go forward to the national final.
