ACAS age discrimination guidance is here
23 May 2006:
ACAS has now launched its guidance to help employers and individuals understand how imminent age discrimination legislation will affect them. The organisation has warned employers to act now to beat the 1 October deadline.
There are two guides: one for employers and one for individuals. The employer guidance covers key issues, including training, equal opportunities, recruitment, promotion, performance appraisals, sickness pay, conditions, benefits, redundancy, pensions and retirement.
The legislation is giving a new lease of life to football refs. Referees in England will no longer have to retire at 48, the Football Association's compulsory retirement age.
