Travel health clinic opens

With summer holidays approaching a new travel health clinic has opened in Bedford Place for all those pre-travel jabs and pills. The Southampton Travel Health Clinic has taken a lease of 79 Bedford Place which was on the market with Keygrove Chartered Surveyors.
Gill Hayes RGN NDN DTM, the owner of the business, says “We are committed to providing holiday and business travellers with a complete travel health service promoting protection against tropical diseases. We needed a prominent and accessible location with parking close by and 79 Bedford Place is ideal.”
She continues “Our service is unique - we give confidential advice and recommendations for personal travel, provide full immunizations, and we continue to keep in touch with our clients by email during their trip if necessary. Our staff are highly qualified and experienced travel health nurses.”
Andrew Archibald of letting agents Keygrove comments “Bedford Place is recognized as a great location for specialist retail, restaurants and other non main High Street uses. Southampton City Council acknowledged this by granting planning permission for the Travel Health Clinic to convert a former office building.”
Gill Hayes RGN NDN DTM is a Specialist Nurse in travel health and manages the clinic on a day to day basis. Her interest began whilst living and working as an expatriate in the Gulf State of Bahrain and continued whilst travelling the world for many years as a Nursing Officer in the Merchant Navy. She has extensive personal travel experience from "back packing to 5 star" and has a wide range of clinical knowledge. In 2006 she was awarded a post grad Diploma in Travel Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow.
