Linden demonstrates an innovative way to work from home
15 March 2011
Linden Homes and Business Southampton have thrown open the doors of the Ocean Village Innovation Centre to reveal the future of ‘working from home’ in the South.
Business leaders and key commercial figures from the Southampton area were invited to tour the cutting edge Innovation Centre to witness for themselves the state of the art offices, the conference facilities and Linden’s ground breaking ‘live/work’ units.
These inventive units, designed and built by Linden Homes at their highly contemporary waterfront development Splash, have a living area upstairs and a work space downstairs and offer a glimpse into the future and a new, enlightened perspective on the concept of working from home. The fresh design of the Splash apartments, the exclusive marina location and the spectacular views have already proved extremely popular with buyers.
Splash lies between Southampton Water and the Ocean Village Marina and offers a large selection of apartments. Prices start at £170,000 for a two bedroom apartment with a city view or a view of the podium gardens, right up to a two bedroom apartment with beautiful waterside views for around £240,000.
Chief executive of Business Southampton, Sally Lynskey, says the Innovation Centre and the live/work units provide an ideal landscape for new businesses to flourish: “This event was a great opportunity for City Champions to find out more about the Ocean Village Innovation Centre (OVIC) and the Splash development.”
Pat Feighery, managing director of Linden Homes Southern, believes the Ocean Village Innovation Centre offers a very original option for innovative new local businesses looking for flexible, state of the art premises:
“The Innovation Centre, and in particular the Live/Work units at Splash, are the way forward for some of the highly original local enterprises that originate in this area. We have a wealth of people in and around the Universities and Colleges in this area coming up with fantastic new ideas and technologies. The Innovation Centre offers them somewhere to take these enterprises so they can grow and flourish. This centre is a seed bed for the growth and development of the Southampton region’s economy.”
