New Eastpoint Centre nears completion

The new Eastpoint Centre is now beginning to take shape and should be ready to open towards the end of September. Much of the external work is nearing completion with the outside of the building almost finished with only some of the windows to be inserted and Brise Soleil (solar shielding panels) to be placed in front of the windows facing south.

The building is to have new commercial areas on the top floor, which will provide meeting rooms and space for groups of 6 up to 600 people. The flexibility of this space and room for such large numbers will ensure that this meeting venue will be able to compete with other similar venues in the region. This space can be used for meetings, dinners, weddings, fashion shows or whatever takes peoples’ imagination.

Since May, work has been carried out on the car park, which will now have space for up to 130 vehicles.

Work on areas to provide space for our local community to meet and participate in activities is similarly moving ahead with the creation of 8 bright and spacious meeting rooms. A new restaurant, coffee lounge and bar are also just some of the facilities that local people will be able to enjoy – our aim is to make Eastpoint the best community facility in the region.
