Joint Letting instruction at Marchwood Industrial Park

3 March 2011*

The South Coast Industrial & Logistics team at national commercial property consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), has been instructed by Oceanic Estates to jointly market Marchwood Industrial Estate, Southampton alongside King Sturge LLP

Owned by Oceanic Estates, the 57 hectares (140 acre) estate is well known in the area as the former Marchwood power station and is one of the largest industrial schemes in the South. The development offers industrial, warehouse and open storage sites as well as one of the few Design & Build opportunities in the area.

Oceanic Estates, founded by the former Round the World Yachtsman, Lawrie Smith, and Philip Hutchinson, has appointed LSH alongside King Sturge LLP to actively market and let the available space. Current occupiers on the site include Royal Mail, Ocado Distribution, Maritime Transport, Mobile Mini, Balfour Beatty, Lafarge, ATS, Hoyer and Elliott Plant Hire.

Adrian Whitfield, Director in LSH’s Southampton office, commented: “One of the key differentiators of this estate is its ability to offer large commercial power supply – making it an attractive property proposition for industrial occupiers operating heavyweight equipment.”

Matthew Poplett, Head of Industrial Agency in King Sturge’s Southampton office, added: “We welcome the opportunity to work with LSH on this instruction. Marchwood is a unique industrial estate offering opportunities for a variety of occupiers from open storage, warehouse and distribution, technology, education, general industrial and marine uses which do fit on traditional industrial estates.”

Jerry Vigus, Director at LSH, added: “This instruction from Oceanic Estates is a major coup for our South Coast team. We have been marketing space at Oceanic’s Victory Trading Estate in Portsmouth for the last two years, and to win this instruction is testament to the team’s performance and success there.”

A number of open storage sites ranging from 1 - 6 acres are available to let, in addition to Design and Build warehouse/distribution units up to 120,000 sq ft.
