Hughes Ellard signs in with new corporate identity
10 Febuary 2011
An independent commercial property consultancy in the South with a 37-year pedigree is unveiling a new corporate identity.
Hughes Ellard, which has offices in Hampshire and a joint venture in West Sussex, is phasing in the strong branding across its operations from today (Monday, February 14).
The 16-strong chartered surveyors is making the change as part of its expansion strategy amid growing instructions from office, retail and industrial clients, including multi-national property investment and pension funds.
Hughes Ellard’s new corporate identity will see the firm’s website changed to reflect the branding, as well as exterior signage and online and offline communications.
Gary Jeffries, Hughes Ellard Managing Director, said: “Our new corporate identity is an integral part of our strong business ethos as we continue to expand strategically.
“The inspiration behind our new identity is to combine our traditional heritage in an established industry with us reaching up to new heights through our creative, modern and dynamic people.
”We want to be known as the ‘advisor of choice’ within the commercial property sector for our geographic spread, which is why we’ve seized this opportunity to develop the new identity.
“The delivery of excellence is how we will grow our reputation with the people who matter to us most – our staff, our clients, our suppliers and other key stakeholders.”
Hughes Ellard has offices at Cams Hall, a 220-acre business park at Fareham, near Portsmouth, and at Ocean Village in Southampton. It also has a joint venture with commercial property agency Henry Adams Commercial in West Sussex.
The company was founded in 1974 by David Hughes, with Hughes Ellard created in 1976 with the arrival of Roger Ellard.
Gary, Russell Mogridge, Carl Walker, Stephen Downham and Nik Cox are the firm’s current directors.
Hughes Ellard’s professional services include development appraisal, search and acquisition, valuation, rent review and lease renewal, asset management, building consultancy, disposals and investment advice.
The company acts for leading property companies, funds and institutions in flagship locations across the South.
They include Lakeside Portsmouth, for Highcross Strategic Advisers, Fareham Industrial Park, for Standard Life, Botleigh Grange office campus at Hedge End, for Aberdeen, and a mixed-used scheme at Mayflower Plaza in Southampton for Terrace Hill.
Hughes Ellard also advises businesses, such as the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), on strategic property matters.
For example, the building consultancy services’ arm oversaw the finishing touches to the £4m development of RYA Portland House at Osprey Quay, Portland, Dorset.
RYA Portland House will serve as the permanent training and performance hub for the British team, as well as members of the RYA, affiliated clubs and associations.
The 15,000 sq ft (1,393 sq m) building is the first phase of a £30m mixed-use scheme on an eight-acre waterside site called Castle Court and part of a master plan by regional development agency SWERDA for the regeneration of Portland Harbour.
Hughes Ellard’s role included auditing the developer’s design, approval of building agreements and monitoring of works at the centre, which has 24 twin bedrooms, conferencing, meeting and dining facilities and storage, changing and general administration.
The Hughes Ellard branding project was carried out by marketing consultancy Blue Fox, based near Winchester.
