New Biomass Power Station - formal consultation on the proposal commences

Helius Energy has today commenced formal pre-application consultation with the local community on the proposed 100MWe biomass fuelled electricity generating station located within the Port of Southampton. The consultation is informed by a Non Technical Consultation Document.

Helius Energy has also today commenced formal consultation with Statutory Consultees on the Technical Consultation Document which provides preliminary environmental information on the proposals.

Helius Energy has today announced the dates and locations of the public exhibitions. The exhibitions are intended to provide local residents with an opportunity to view the proposals and environmental information before the application is submitted to the Infrastructure Planning Commission. Personnel from Helius Energy will be present, together with selected members of the technical consultant's team, to answer any questions that you may have.

The exhibitions will be held on:

Wednesday 9th February 2011 at the Marchwood Village Centre, Marchwood, Southampton, SO40 4SX from 2.00pm to 7.30pm.

Thursday 10th February 2011 at the Poveys Centre, Shirley, 159 Shirley Road, Southampton, SO15 7RX from 2.00pm to 7.30pm.
