Information
The Cultural Quarter is to be a focus for culture-led economic regeneration in the heart of the city. This distinctive quarter will build upon existing cultural activity to create one of the most dynamic urban areas along the South Coast, celebrating and nurturing the city’s creativity and innovation.
The proposed development is a major driver in the development of the Cultural Quarter and includes an exciting new arts complex. It faces across the Guildhall Square which is to be a high quality outdoor public space.
Support has been secured for specific elements of the overall programme from SEEDA, Southampton Partnership and Arts Council England. Other critical partners include University of Southampton, John Hansard Gallery, Art Asia, City Eye and Nuffield Theatre.
